I'm Heather Bruemmer, a grant writer, nonprofit and arts administrator, and longtime professional problem-solver. I've spent years writing and reviewing grants, running arts organizations, developing community projects, and helping people figure out what to do when the obvious route isn't working.
Grants • Arts • Ideas grew out of that work. The resources here are designed to be useful immediately, without requiring an expensive course, a consultant, or fifty pages of explanation first.
The name is deliberately broad. Grants are part of what I do, but so are the arts, leadership, creative communities, practical problem-solving, and the question I seem to get asked more than almost any other: “I have this idea. What do I do next?”
Useful information should be understandable without specialized vocabulary.
Templates should be editable because you're supposed to use them.
Sometimes the most useful advice is simply having someone point out the thing you didn't know you were missing.
